Attitude is everything

You make your own happiness, no one can do it for you, you're all alone on this part. Early on, I made up my mind that Win, Lose Or draw, No matter the outcome I was going to have a smile on my face and a song in my heart. Some of (if not all of) the strength came from my personal belief in God. See I believe in the God that never fails and so far he's held up his end of the bargain.. Here's how I did it. Besides prayer that is. I got diagnosed with End Stage Liver Disease (ESLB) in April of 2015. Of course I was scared so I prayed and joined a men's Prayer Breakfast that I still enjoy. Let me tell you how I did it. Unlike a lott of Liver patients I spoke freely about everything that was going on including my mindset regarding the situation. Some say I was very analytical. I say I was a realist. 1. I have a disease that WILL kill me, No maybe's about it, So step one was to get on the transplant list. Prayer and My hepatologist saw to that. No matter what you situation, no matter the pain you have two choices, Get Mad or Get glad, So I got Glad and was rewarded by being placed on the Transplant list Feb. 4, 2016. Doctors kept telling me that I had a great attitude and I was just trying to stay focused and healthy long enough to get a transplant. I can't tell you every day was easy because I had a total of 12 endoscopy, 4 MRI, 1 Coloscopy 3 CT Scans, 6 Liver ultrasounds, 2 TIPS procedures and 12 daily medications but they wheeled me down the hall to whatever procedure or test that was scheduled and I think my smile and positive attitude rubbed off on the staff and Doctors visited for no medical reasons, even food service would sneak me treats. Then after 5 false Alarms around late august of 2016 my Meld Score actually improved and I slipped down the list while I started having MORE symptoms. I was starting to circle the drain and I began to mentally prepare for the worst! I still smiled although it was a little more difficult but I endured and on January 7, 2017 I got the call and Dr. Doria did the transplant. That was 14 months ago and then I found this
